Courtyard at Auckland domain Wintergardens

Our brief has been described as 'designing a refurbishment to the domain Winter-Gardens', in the form of; a food event, an educational addition, or an exhibition.

On a morning trip to the gardens we were tasked with photographing, experiencing, drawing, and imagining the space around the gardens, including the entrance, courtyard, cool house, tropical house and fernery.

While recording the site I decided to categorise my focuses. I chose 6 points of interest; movement (non-human), still life (sculptural aspects), natural lighting (through plant matter), framing mechanisms, colour in bloom, and textures and tactile surface among plants.

Here are a few recorded images from my journey through the gardens, primarily applying focus into these categories and focusing on detail and the smaller picture as opposed to the whole scene.
