ABOUT ME

My name is Georgia Brechelt, and I am 20 years old, I moved to Auckland from Mount Maunganui to pursue my goal of becoming a spatial designer for one of the most liveable, rapidly growing cities in the world. My blog 'The Spatial Intrigue follows my extensive journey through studying, making, and discovering. From a young age I developed a love for art and design, I took Visual Art in high school which lead to my love of colour and composition across art and architecture, and in my final year focused my portfolio around historical design and the gradual shift into todays architecture styles and techniques. It was this portfolio process which lead me to apply myself into a hands on design course at Auckland University of Technology. Now in my final year of the Bachelor of Spatial Design, I have come to appreciate the craft and material involved in bespoke design elements whether architecturally or interior elements to compose a space. In my final year I plan to dive in head first to identifying my own unique design style and pursuing this form in my career after my degree is complete

About me as a person; Growing up at the beach I tend to take it for granted, but it is still a huge part of me no matter where I move to, I also enjoy snowboarding and spending days at the mountain, or just being outdoors whether it be camping, kayaking, or walking. I revel in anything crafty, one of the most enjoyable aspects of my degree to date is being able to utilise the university wet-workshop for clay moulding and tile making, as well as using the laser cutters and 3d printers to watch my visions come to life.
