In our study groups last week we were tasked with collecting up previous works, projects, images, readings, writings and anything we have created or discovered during this course which may be relevant to the upcoming Wintergardens refurbishment project. We brought in nearly every thing that we had and deliberated on which we thought each individuals strongest pieces were to consider.
Above are three images from one of my first classes in the first year Spatial Fabrication Studio paper, In this class we created 20 quick fire models to get our designs started, I created this from a dyed leaf skeleton and feathers, with a small piece of wire holding the edges together.
I chose these images because they're very atmospheric and I thought the materials and their natural origin could supply me with some inspiration.
Next is my Spatial Design Studio paper from first year too, where we redesigned miniature houses and chose a placement out of three locations, I chose a natural setting in a secluded bay in Auckland, providing a basis for my design which became very nature inspired and, the outside became a key aspect and nature was incorporated throughout my design. My images and information about this design can be found at the link below:

Next I chose my second year, Spatial Fabrication Studio paper to draw inspiration from, as once again the design was very nature inspire and evolved into a design which showcases and protects the surrounding nature. My report in which I explain the purpose of my design the importance of protecting the Kauri trees and the Waitakere ranges, and how my design proposes to do so is linked below also.

I also thought it interesting to showcase natures qualities through making and art, so for my minor paper ( Urban Practices) in a group project we handmade pieces of paper to create an art piece, we gathered natural plant matter from Victoria Park, leaves, pollen, petals, seeds, grasses fluff from dandelions, and we used recycled newspaper and paper, mulched it together and made paper from this. I though this project could be an interesting starting point for a new project as it was based around sustainability and recycling, addressing the importance of the natural world. And finally I selected my most recent proposal of an apartment design, this was the most realistic brief and response I have participated in and I think that the playfulness and creativeness of this design, as well as the basing off an artists work could come in handy when creating perhaps an exhibition or education space, as bold colours and playfulness could work well in both.
