I wanted a unique space which appears hidden from certain angles for this person to feel comfortable. I created this reading nook which is recessed in to a deep wall making it feel cave-like. The vibrant yellow is warm, cheerful and inviting, and the bespoke bookshelves add a playful element and cast shadows to create a tonal shift within the yellow cubby.

The use of green tinted glass is considered by the surrounding space, adjacent to this space is a sliding door leading to the exterior space, the ovular shape used in this screening system was inspired by Gretchen’s use of oval paintings, and the linear elements she combines them with is my reasoning for having the pivot point vertical, and the pole visible.📷📷
