Converge is designed as another one of my furniture pieces, intended use; coffee table. However within the wintergreens is a very sculptural element.
After playing around with angles while rendering I chose this one above as a key image, first of all to show the intersect but also because it looks eerily similar to an iceberg in water.
My intention for these pieces was to create similarities to the natural world intersections, through the use of glass and concrete collisions, and I think this piece is the most visually obvious and similar to its context
Similar to the plant cell walls the glass intersects with this concrete block, however the block has been particularly carved to look very rough. This was inspired by my physical experimental models where the surface of the clay created such interesting texture and experience.
The glass is an aqua textured panel, the texture is rather subtle with wave like qualities, the panel is 1.5m long and 60cm wide, this intersects with a 50cm x 50xm concrete block.
